Description:
Ammdent Prep Canal is a specialized dental solution designed for comprehensive root canal preparation. Combining EDTA (15% w/v) and Carbamide Peroxide (10% w/v) in a water-soluble gel base, it efficiently cleanses and shapes root canals. This advanced formulation ensures the removal of calcium salts and debris, facilitating thorough canal cleansing.
When combined with sodium hypochlorite solution, Carbamide Peroxide initiates an effervescent reaction, effectively dissolving pulp tissue and debris for optimal canal preparation. The oxygen release from Carbamide Peroxide brightens discolored teeth, enhancing aesthetic outcomes. With precise guidelines for instrumentation, Ammdent Prep Canal promotes procedural precision, reducing the risk of post-operative discomfort and flare-ups.
It facilitates enhanced penetration of medicaments, ensuring comprehensive disinfection and treatment efficacy. Ammdent Prep Canal stands as a reliable adjunct in modern endodontic practice, fostering improved patient outcomes and treatment success.
INDICATIONS:
- Prep canal lubricants help remove calcifications and the smear layer as well as lubricate the canal for competent instrumentation
- Contain about 15% EDTA. water-based, which allows easy access to the narrow apical area and is easier to remove than gels or creams
- Used with a surfactant to loosen up calcifications inside the root canal and facilitate canal shaping for obturation
ADVANTAGES:
- Antibacterial effect
- Helps to find the root canal entrys
- Reduces file breakage during mechanical preparation
- EDTA helps in chelating the calcium salts
- Gel helps lubricate endodontic instrument and makes penetration easier
- Carbamide peroxide in EDTA promotes internal bleaching on irrigation with hypochlorite solution

Directions To Use:
Here are the directions for using Ammdent D-Hydral:
- Isolation: Begin by isolating the tooth to be treated with a rubber dam to ensure a clean and controlled environment.
- Pulp Chamber Preparation: Open the pulp chamber using standard techniques. Remove chamber contents with burs and excavators, then flush with sodium hypochlorite solution.
- Application of PREP CANAL: Fill the pulp chamber with PREP CANAL solution. The effervescence of sodium hypochlorite will aid in opening canal orifices.
- Root Canal Instrumentation: Introduce a fine instrument (reamer or file) into the canal with a mixing motion to enhance bubbling and debris removal. Do not insert the instrument more than halfway down the canal initially.
- Irrigation and Reapplication: After gentle irrigation with sodium hypochlorite, repeat the process by adding PREP CANAL to the chamber. Continue instrumentation, advancing approximately 3/4 the distance of the canal.
- Measurement and Confirmation: Insert the instrument close to the radiographic apex and take an X-ray to confirm the measurement. Record measurements and make any necessary corrections.
- Canal Preparation Sequence: Proceed with instrumentation, ensuring each instrument passes freely before advancing to the next size. Use PREP CANAL for the first two or three sizes, then switch to sodium hypochlorite for subsequent sizes.
- Complete Irrigation: Irrigate canals repeatedly with sodium hypochlorite until bubbling ceases, indicating thorough cleaning.
- Final Steps: Dry canals with absorbent points. Seal medicaments into canals and chamber to aid in opening calcified canals and prevent residual organic tissue reactions.
